The Keep Engaging Youth in Science (KEYS) Research Internship is a seven-week summer program for motivated high school students with a strong interest in bioscience, engineering, environmental health, or biostatistics. The program begins with a week of intensive training in laboratory techniques, safety, bioscience methodology, data science, and science literacy. Following this, interns engage in six weeks of hands-on research, working side-by-side with University of Arizona faculty mentors and other laboratory members on real-world projects. The internship culminates in a research showcase where students present their findings to the academic community, friends, and family. Participants also receive 3 tuition-free credits for MCB 103 with the University of Arizona and assured admission into the UArizona's W.A. Franke Honors College.
